We attended the Smart economics: Grow, Fundright and expand internationally. Held at the Venture Cafe Rotterdam. We have learned a lot about expanding internationally as a business. What are the struggles, the Do’s and Don’ts. These questions and similar ones were answered by a representative of Ministry of Foreign affairs and by entrepreneurs who have experienced exactly that.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively on a mission to encourage Dutch female entrepreneurs to do business abroad. Why? Smart economics: there is great untapped economic potential in female entrepreneurs expanding internationally.

In this session, Shapol MajidJasmijn Bleijerveld and Lotte Leufkens shared their international best practices with you. How do they use governmental support to find funding, business partners and a network to grow and expand in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and South-America?

An important part of expanding your business is creating the best team. Janneke Niessen knows exactly how. After two successful exits and a portfolio of investments. She focuses much of her time on boosting diversity in the tech sector.

Talking about diversity; how do we make sure that we have an inclusive ecosystem? Marian Spier, founder of TedXAmsterdamWomen and FEM-START, an equal women techpreneurs incubator & accelerator program,  shared her insights.

Moderator Rixt Herklots from TheNextWomen informed, inspired and motivated to do business abroad!

Tjerk Opmeer, Director International from Netherlands Enterprise Agency (rvo.nl) talked about getting financial support, personal advice and access to networks and events to help grow your business on an international level. Also we got to meet Janneke NiessenEva de Mol and Marian Spier: role models in the world of tech, investments, inclusivity and diversity.
