In an age when traditional media channels have lost their power to capture our attention, marketing professionals are forced to adapt. Now brands are willing to pay millions of dollars for an influencer ad campaign on Instagram.
The influencer marketing industry will reach $10 billion by 2020 and will continue to see more growth in the industry and become an efficient marketplace. Instagram is the new travel guide, and influencers’ travel content provides consumers with non-stop inspiration.
Influencer marketing has proven to be one of the most effective forms of connecting with a community. It will not only continue to grow in popularity, but it will also become a more effective way for brands to engage audiences on social media channels. At its core, influencer marketing is about storytelling.
We hosted an info table at Venture Cafe Rotterdam. Where we inform visitors about the future of city marketing and the major role of influencer marketing that plays in it. I mean look at Saudi Arabia. The country that was considered one of the difficult countries to obtain tourist visas ever to now opening its doors to not only tourism but inviting influencers from all around the world to visit its beautiful nature sights and cities. Saudi released to appeal to the world after years of isolation you have to appeal to the public, to the people.
Influencers are people just like you and me. Who film their everyday lives and most of them share their real thoughts and ideas. They are approachable and relatable. That’s why you see a lot of Hollywood stars starting Instagram accounts and YouTube channels to reach you and me, while 23 years wasnt the case.
Influencer Marketing is vital to your company, especially if your business has to do something for everyday people. And most businesses do.
We played a Kahoot game about the city of Rotterdam with the visitors. We asked questions like, How many nationalities live in Rotterdam, What is the population of Rotterdam? and what does the word Rotterdam means?
Of course, there was a prize for the winner. It was a cube stone cut from the Coolsingel streets as Souvenier. You can see the winner was happy with the prize.
